This just happens in the ̈Giraffe Manor ̈ an exclusive and elegant hotel that thanks to the group of giraffes that live in their properties it has become one of the best tourist destinations for vacations in Kenya- Africa.
This charming mansion was built in 1932, and it has kept every part of its old world charm. It is established on a private estate where 12 Rothschild giraffes (a species in danger of extinction) are the main attraction of the place.
Giraffes live without risks in its new habitat; they prove us with its cordial disposition as sharing time with people and eating snacks directly from the hand of the guest house.
The property is surrounded by 56 hectares of native forest that hosts a variety of wildlife. The hotel is built with authentic brick between luxury gardens with ivy perched on the walls.
It place represents an exclusive and unique wildlife experience is located just a few kilometers from Nairobi. Specifically 30 minutes by car from the city center and about 35 km from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
The place offers a lovely family vacation experience. The hotel staff is very hospitable. They give information to the guests and explain how to have a better interaction with the giraffes, the specific food to feed them and how they should be handled. Also, this place is a good site to see other kinds of animals like boars, impala, colorful birds and antelopes.
One of the many advantages of the Giraffe Manor Hotel is that it is very intimate because of the place is for a maximum of 29 guests at the hotel where the rooms have private bathrooms, private balconies, Wi-Fi and four-poster beds with mosquito netting. The grounds of the estate have lovely courtyards, lush gardens, and terraces. The facilities include a beauty salon, bar, lounge, parking area, boutique shop, spa, and an excellent restaurant. Another advantage is the interesting art deco design and antique furniture decorated everything inside. The hotel was chosen for a film called “Out of Africa”, it was presented to the public in 1985.
In March 2009, The Giraffe Manor Hotel was purchased by Mikey and Tanya Carr-Hartley. It is now part of The Safari Collection hotel and lodging group, where they thought about all the details so that each guest’s stay can be memorable.
